LIG10

Lig10 is an application of promotional coupons, where I worked on the project as the main ux designer, where I worked from the design of the app flow, wireframing to the final visual. We wanted the app to have a more modern and clean look, to stand out from its competitors, so we focused a lot on the layout and use of images within the UI.

The briefing

The initial briefing of the project involved creating a promotional coupon app that was simple and easy for the user and that had some form of gamification to reward users for their use. The project had time and budget limitations so we had to be very aware of each feature.

The process

I was the lead designer of the project, with the help of a small team of developers. I received the project and immediately felt the weight of the challenge, as we had a small amount of money and time to complete it, around 4 to 6 months, so we simplified the amount of features as much as possible, but without harming the app navigability. So, we started the project studying the competitors of LIG10, we noticed right away that they all have a simple design, sometimes even archaic, and with confusing navigability.

So, we noticed that the best way to make this app stand out would be a modern, bold, and easy-to-use design, and we needed to do that without adding too much complexity to the project. After that point, we started to make the application flow inside "Miro", which helped me to define together with the developers what functionality we would have within the project. Also, I sketched the screens in Adobe XD using wireframes, but in a super simplified way because of the limited time available.

Making a style guide at the beginning of the process was also essential to the success of the application, as it helped with decision-making throughout the prototyping. After that, we completed a first version of the application on Adobe XD in a month, which version was approved and sent to the developer team.

Challenges

Certainly the biggest challenge in delivering this project was its planning within a tight deadline. The client wanted the project as soon as possible, and as the app development would take a considerable amount of time, we had to be very precise, consistent with our decisions, without making the app experience superficial. Two great allies that helped us in this challenge were the Style Guide and the flow mapping in "Miro"; both greatly accelerated the creation and decision-making process.
